Are your mats safe for children?

Absolutely! Our mats are made using natural rubber and do not contain toxic substances - PVC, silicone, phthalates, chlorine, odour and other nasties. They are topped with a soft, non-slip microsuede towel top that absorbs sweat and provides a firm grip. They are printed with non-toxic, non-fade water-based inks too.

Plus, they’re so easy to clean as the mats are hand and machine washable. You can rest assured your child will be playing and exercising on a clean mat.

Can’t I just buy any yoga mat or use an adult yoga mat for my child?

Of course you can. But are those mats safe, sustainably-made and cute to boot?

Chalk and Chakras mats’ dimensions are tailored in mind for children. Our mats are also super safe for kids (see above).

Plus, yoga mats are made from different materials. Unfortunately, many of them are made from PVC. We know that’s not a great material for our health and the environment as PVC is made up of harmful phthalates, lead, cadmium, and/or organotins. PVC can hardly be recycled at all. When it’s incinerated or buried in landfills it releases dioxin, a known carcinogen.

Chalk and Chakras’ mats are made of natural and sustainable materials, using natural rubber base heat bonded to vegan microsuede fabric.

To minimise impact, we pack our mats in biodegradable mesh bags and ship without plastics.

Why are your yoga mats so expensive?

Are they really?

We believe in producing high quality and safe products as well as paying for creative work.

The illustrators we work with created original designs for Chalk and Chakras yoga mats.

Our mats are made by a reputable Chinese yoga accessories factory. It is founded in 2011 by an avid yoga practitioner who started the business to manufacture mats using natural materials as she was dissatisfied with PVC and TPE offerings in the market. The factory is audited onsite for working conditions and quality control, and certified by independent testing organisations for the use of safe, non-toxic materials in its mats.

Can i buy your mats using local payment methods?

We’re a Singapore-based company and we accept local payment services such as PayNow and PayLah! If you prefer to use them, just drop us an email at chalkandchakras@gmail.com.

Do you ship overseas?

We would be happy to quote for overseas shipping! At the checkout, choose your location and we will get back to you via email on a quote. If you are agreeable to the shipping fees, we will direct you to a shipping page where you can checkout the price required for shipping.

do chalk and chakras mats come with a yoga mat strap?

Our mats are shipped without plastics and come in their own biodegradable packaging bags. These bags are not meant for everyday use as mats need to be tightly and carefully rolled to fit in. Our mats do roll up easily and stand on their own, so storing them at home is convenient. We might be looking into making yoga mat straps. Stay tuned!
